The war between Melbourne City Wrestling and The Mighty Don’t Kneel was declared officially over following a hellacious Caged Warfare match at the MCW Arena in Essendon on Saturday September 10th, but there are still some loose ends that need to be tied up, especially as it relates to the MCW Tag Team Championships, which Slex and Marcius Pitt claimed back at MCW New Horizons in May.
As seen on the Caged Warfare Post Show Wrap-Up, Slex was quick to mention that he is still technically under contract with Melbourne City Wrestling, even though he defected to TMDK back in April. Given those circumstances, MCW Management have decided that the pairing of Slex and Marcius Pitt will continue to be recognised as MCW Tag Team Champions, and will return to defend those titles, but with that in mind, it won’t be for a couple of months, as following Caged Warfare, Marcius Pitt was caught urinating backstage in a sign of angry defiance, and consequently, has been suspended for 60 days, without pay.
Melbourne City Wrestling management have decided that as a result, the next defence of the MCW Tag Team Championships will be at MCW Final Battle, which takes place at The Thornbury Theatre on Friday December 2nd, with the rightful opponents being determined by management over the coming weeks. But just because Marcius Pitt has been suspended, doesn’t mean Slex is in the same boat, and management have decided that he will return to singles competition at our Sixth Anniversary Extravaganza.
Slex’s opponent/s will be determined in due course, but given all the issues caused by Slex in recent months, its a safe bet that this won’t be an easy road for the former MCW Heavyweight Champion. Match announcements will be made later this week, and tickets for our Sixth Anniversary double header are now available for purchase online.
