We’re proud to announce some details and match announcements for our next event, MCW Collision Course, which takes place at the MCW Arena in Essendon on Saturday November 12th. With ‘Final Battle’ slated for the Thornbury Theatre on Friday December 2nd, we can reveal that several talents from across Australia will be converging on the MCW Arena for ‘Collision Course’, which will make this a stacked card to round out the final Essendon event of the year…
Just a few weeks removed from the biggest match of his career, when he faces Elliot Sexton for the MCW Championship on December 2nd, Dowie James will face ‘The Jurassic Punk’ Syd Parker in singles competition! Dowie has been on a mission to prove himself as the leader and standard bearer in Melbourne City Wrestling, and as a result, management decided to match him against a competitor who will more than test his mettle.
In 2016, we’ve seen a banner year from Syd Parker, who most recently turned heads with two stellar bouts as part of the Melbourne City Invitational in October. It has capped off a recent change in attitude from Parker, who has gone from being one of MCW’s most hated competitors, to most loved. Certainly, he’s not someone who Dowie should try to look past as he continues his quest for the top championship in the country, and we’re very much looking forward to seeing these two warriors lock horns.
Our second match announcement will see the in-ring debut of the man simply known as ‘Phil’, as he takes on Josh ‘The Axe’ Shooter. For months, Phil has been posting self-created and self-funded interviews to YouTube, titled ‘Fun Time With Phil’, where he’s been interviewing members of the MCW roster. But during a typically awkward interview, this time against world-travelled independent wrestling star Marty Scurll, The Axe interrupted Phil, calling into question his credentials as a journalist, and as a wrestler.
Now, Phil has the chance to make a name for himself in Melbourne City Wrestling, as he goes one on one with a man who has had a mixed bag of a year in 2016. But will Phil be able to score the win in his debut match? Or will Josh Shooter get back on track, as he seeks to wrap the year up back on a win streak?
Tickets for MCW Collision Course are on sale now via this link, and can also be purchased at the door. Front row is sold out, with second row selling fast. We’ll be back with more match announcements during the week, as we look to close out our monthly events in Essendon for 2016 with a bang!
