We may only be a couple of months into the new year, but we’ve seen a stack of developments already within Melbourne City Wrestling. At the beginning of the year, THREE separate competitors demanded to be next in line for Dowie James’ MCW Heavyweight Championship, which he won from Elliot Sexton in a gruelling match at MCW Final Battle, available here via MCW Encore on Demand.
As you can see in this recap of January’s “Vendetta” event, it was the former champion Sexton who began to show cracks in his virtuous armour, whilst Adam Brooks claimed that since he has never been pinned by Dowie James, he should be next in line. At MCW Ascension, Brooks continued to needle Dowie James, resulting in the champion declaring that Brooks is next in line for the MCW Heavyweight Championship, at a date to be announced (and rumoured to be our return to the Thornbury Theatre, which is due to be announced later this week). Meanwhile, Sexton turned on his former best friend, Mr Juicy, assaulting him with a chair that same event, leaving him heavily weakened in his bout with Adam Brooks, which he would go on to lose later that night.
With so many elements at play here, MCW Management have decided that at MCW Tensions Rising on Saturday March 11, Adam Brooks will team with Elliot Sexton to face Mr Juicy and the MCW Heavyweight Champion Dowie James, in a massive tag team main event! Tickets for our return to the MCW Arena in Essendon are on sale now, and selling fast! Our last event was a sell out, and we plan on modifying the venue setup in order to fit more people into the building. To secure a great seat for this event, we advise booking early via this link. Tickets will also be available at the venue on the night.
