MCW Ballroom Brawl – Complete Details & FAQ’s

Each year, Melbourne City Wrestling’s annual BALLROOM BRAWL event is one of the most highly anticipated events on our yearly calendar. This years event, taking place THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, Saturday August 5th, at the Thornbury Theatre, may well be our biggest yet. Here’s a complete list of everything happening during the day, and some answers to frequently asked questions…

At 1pm on Saturday, we will be holding a training seminar with Will Ospreay, at the Thornbury Theatre, for all existing professional wrestlers & professional wrestling trainees.

The cost for this seminar is $60 per person, and will run until between 3 – 3.30pm. PLEASE NOTE: This seminar is only for existing professional wrestlers, who we advise should message our official Facebook page, or email us at melbcitywrestling@live.com in order to confirm eligibility.

WILL OSPREAY MEET & GREET (6.15 – 6.30pm)

We will be holding a meet & greet with Will Ospreay at 6.30pm, which is the same time that doors to the venue open. We had previously sold out of this opportunity, but we will look to include some extra meet & greet passes on the night, at a cost of $20 per person, which includes a photo (taken with your own camera or phone) and an autograph card.

If you have a meet & greet pass, we advise being at the venue¬†before 6.30pm, in order to beat the queue, and be let in on time. We will look to let meet & greet pass holders in prior to 6.30pm, in order to beat the rush once doors open. If you pre-ordered your pass and it has not yet arrived in the mail, don’t stress! You will still be able to get in, as your order will be included on our door list.

As advertised, we will have tickets for Ballroom Brawl available on the night. Tickets cost $30 per person.

If you have not yet purchased tickets, we advise being at the venue a little earlier, in order to ensure you’re able to get in, and get a seat. There will be extra spaces for standing room admission, as we want as many people as possible to be able to witness the best night of professional wrestling that Melbourne has to offer.

PLEASE NOTE: We only allow cash sales for tickets purchased at the venue, and at the merchandise tables. Apologies for the inconvenience!

If you pre-ordered tickets and they have not yet arrived, you’ll still be able to get in. We will have a door list with all ticket orders included on it. Feel free to bring your PayPal receipt email for peace of mind if you wish.

MCW Ballroom Brawl kicks off at 7.30pm sharp. We will have an intermission during the event, where we will have merchandise available, as well as pre-order tickets for the biggest Melbourne City Wrestling event ever, MCW New Horizons, which takes place at the Arrow on Swanston ballroom in Carlton on Saturday August 19.

We anticipate Ballroom Brawl will wrap up between 10.30 and 11pm.

As with all our events, we encourage our fans to make their voices heard during the event, but please be mindful of fans around you. Consistent bad language and behaviour will result in your ejection from the building. Please do not bring outside food and drink, as it is not permitted by the venue.

We also ask fans not to throw anything into the ring, or jump the guardrails. We will have a hashtag, #BallroomBrawl , set up for the event, and we encourage you to interact with us via social media throughout the night.

Above all else, thank you for being a part of this event, and we look forward to bringing you Ballroom Brawl on Saturday night! See you there!
