Melbourne City Wrestling will be presenting a massive supercard from the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday November 11, as we present November Rain, featuring the first ever Australian appearance from the longest reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion in New Japan Pro Wrestling history, Kazuchika Okada!
We already know that the main event of this event will see ‘The Rainmaker’ facing ‘The Business’, as Okada goes up against the returning Slex, but we’re also here to announce two more massive matches for this sold out event, making it a triple main event card, the likes of which we haven’t seen before in Melbourne City Wrestling.
First up, we will see Alan Payne challenging Jonah Rock for the MCW Heavyweight Championship, in a match which was set following the MCW Seven anniversary event on October 14. Following Jonah Rock’s defeat of independent wrestling stalwart Matt Cross (aka Son of Havoc on Lucha Underground), Rock would proclaim himself to be unbeatable, and announced that he’d be holding the MCW Heavyweight Championship for a long time to come.
That declaration would see Alan Payne storm out to the ring, to try and get himself a piece of the PWG BOLA contestant, but it would be quickly broken up by members of MCW Management and security. Melbourne City Wrestling Management have since decided that Payne will have his opportunity at the Thornbury Theatre on November 11, in a clash between two heavyweights that is sure to capture the imagination of fans nation wide.
The third of our three main event bouts will see Helter Skelter teaming up for the first time ever under the guidance of their new manager, Julian James, a man who has not been seen in Australian wrestling circles for a number of years. At MCW Seven, Julian James warned that there’d be a river of blood brought on at the hands of his charges, Ali and Jake Andrewartha, and that claim would come to fruition following an attack on Mr Juicy, with Julian James going so far as to wear the blood of Gino Gambino as war paint, as he reaffirmed the intentions of Helter Skelter.
After being left, bloodied and beaten, Mr Juicy would seek assistance from an old friend via Twitter; none other than Bullet Club original member Bad Luck Fale, who was more than willing to oblige. The two previously teamed up at MCW New Horizons (available via MCW Encore on demand, or available on DVD via our online store), with a win over TMDK members Marcius Pitt and Damian Slater. Will we see a similar outcome on November 11? Or is the era of Helter Skelter only just starting?
A reminder that MCW November Reign is SOLD OUT, with no tickets available on the night, but the event will be available on DVD and via MCW Encore on demand following the event.
