MCW Hostile Takeover Results

Melbourne City Wrestling was home once again at the MCW Arena last night, where the atmosphere was one of excitement and trepidation. Would we finally get some answers from our champion to explain the path he has been travelling on since winning the title?

Lord Andy Coyne comes out to the ring to welcome us to Hostile Takeover, announcing two title matches for the night.

  • JXT calls out Gino “Juicy” Gambino.

Almost immediately the champ appears on the entrance ramp, accompanied by his ally Sebastian Walker. JXT and Juicy have a staredown until Helter Skelter hits the ring, jumping JXT and leading to a 3 on 1 beatdown. To add insult to injury, Gambino delivers a stinkface to the downed JXT before leaving with his unexpected alliance.

JXT recovers in the ring and then drops a bombshell on the MCW audience: He’s cashing in his Ballroom Brawl title match contract at MCW Homecoming!

  • Men for Hire (Jake Lindo & Campbell Crawford) w/ Hawko defeated The Brat Pack.

After some miscommunication between the former tag champs, Men for Hire score the upset win via rollup. Post-match Avary informs Nick and Mitch that she has arranged a title match for them at MCW Homecoming and makes it very clear if they don’t re-claim the belts, she will leave The Brat Pack.

  • Vance Adams defeated Mike Burr via DQ

After failing to stop his assault on Adams after the ref’s count, Burr is disqualified. Clearly Adams has gotten in the head of MCW’s resident brawler.

  • Fun Time Open Challenge

Fun Time Phil enters the MCW arena to the delight of the fans; letting them know that, despite his  0-3 record, he’s throwing out the challenge once again to anyone in the locker room.

  • Tome Filip defeated Fun Time Phil

Tome extends his winning streak via pinfall while Phil extends his own unfortunate record. Post match, Aria come to the ring to speak to a dejected Phil, asking him out on a date. Phil accepts, indicating a turnaround in his recent string of bad luck!

  • Helter Skelter “Forgives” Alan Payne

Julian James addresses Payne from the ring, letting him know that he’s welcome back into the family if he accepts his punishment. Big Ali and Jake Andrewartha bring Payne to the ring, where he is stripped down and caned several times; Helter Skelter’s twisted version of “forgiveness”. Once done, Alan is carried to the back, seeming to have “come home” to James and his deranged disciples.

  • Slex ( c ) defeated Nick Armstrong to retain the Intercommonwealth championship.

The champ continues his string of successful titles defences, submitting a worthy opponent in Armstrong via Close of Business.

  • Stevie Filip defeated “Loverboy” Lochy Hendricks

“The Natural” scores a pinfall on “The Loverboy” after a competitive match.

Post match, Hendricks has some shocking words for none other than The Aerial Assassin Will Ospreay, indicating that Ospreay’s partner Bea Priestley has been carrying on with Hendricks behind Will’s back. Lochy then issues a challenge to the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion at MCW Homecoming next month.

  • Indi Hartwell defeated Taylah Rose

Hartwell ruins the debut of Rose by making quick work of the fan favourite, pinning her after an surprising flurry of offense from Taylah that can only be described as, to borrow a word from Indi, “Impressive”. Hartwell then gets on the mic and runs down Tenille Dashwood, who she will meet at the Thornbury Theatre in July.

  • Jonah Rock will face Tetsuya Naito at MCW 100

A video breaks the news of this dream match to the thrilled fans in attendance. August 18th cannot come soon enough..

  • Prehistoric Death Cult w/ Erika Reid ( c ) defeated The Untouchables to retain the MCW Tag Team Championships

After an intense back and forth match that spilled out of the ring and into the crowd, Ugg and Parker pick up the victory via pinfall.

With MCW Homecoming’s card shaping up to be one of the most exciting nights MCW has ever seen, on top of the bombshell of Jonah vs. Naito, it’s never been a better  time to be fan of pro wrestling in Melbourne! The Thornbury Theatre will be the place to be next month. Make sure you get your ticket now!
