Jay Andrews – Head & In Ring Trainer

Jay has over seventeen years’ experience within the professional wrestling industry. He has wrestled all over Australia and been involved in several tours wrestling abroad where he has held several state and national championships over his career.

He has been a part of the in ring training and development of several current MCW and Australian Wrestling talent such as Gino “Mr. Juicy” Gambino, Dowie James and Ryan Eagles just to name a few.

Although not active on the MCW roster, Jay is currently part of the Melbourne City Wrestling senior management team.

He is the department lead of talent relations & development, part of the booking team assisting the head of creative and the senior match agent.


Dowie James: In Ring Trainer

Dowie has more than ten years’ experience within the professional wrestling industry.

In addition to wrestling all over Australia, he has been involved in multiple tours abroad including Japan and the United States.

Dowie is an active member of the MCW roster, has held a multiple championships across Australia and is the only ‘Grand Slam’ champion in Melbourne City Wrestling’s history – winning the Heavyweight, Inter-commonwealth and Tag Team Championships in addition to winning the annual MCW Invitational Tournament.


Gino Gambino (Mr Juicy): Industry Skills Trainer

Originally trained by MCW Academy head trainer Jay Andrews, Gino has spent the last 14 years climbing the ladder of Professional Wrestling in Australia.

In this time Gino has wrestled in each state of Australia as well as overseas and built strong relationships with promoters and many high level professional wrestlers.

Through his time at the Fale Dojo, Gino has facilitated multiple NJPW tryouts through out Australia and has successfully toured Japan with NJPW, most notably appearing on Wrestle Kingdom.

Due to all these experiences and relationships Gino has a clear understanding of what top level promotions are currently searching for in prospective talent. His experience in networking and building solid relationships with major wrestling companies and outside stakeholders makes Gino a invaluable asset to the MCW Academy.


KrackerJak: Promo & Character Development Trainer

KrackerJak has been working in the wrestling industry since 1999 as a wrestler, booker and trainer of up and coming talent.

Wrestling all over Australia, as well as Japan and the United Kingdom, Krackers made a name for himself fusing a style of comedic crowd-pleasing with spectacular violence, augmenting his in-ring work with self-created video content.

For many years the go-to opponent when international wrestlers competed on Australian shores, KrackerJak has faced everyone from former WWE Superstars, ECW alumni and feared indie legends.

The Mad Bastard has held many championships across Australia, most notably both the Wrestlerock & MCW Heavyweight Championships. Krackers has also had an extensive tag team career, his love of tag competition and cultivating new talent finally came back to haunt him when his own partner and protege, Loverboy Lochy Hendricks, forced him into retirement.

Robbed of his in-ring career, Krackers is dedicated passing on his mastery of promos, character work and video content to the next generation of Australian wrestlers.


Rhi Bell: Social Media & Marketing Trainer

A fan of the local scene for almost 20 years, Rhi has worked in the media industry for over ten years.

Rhi describes herself as a women’s wrestling revolutionist, having spent almost five years celebrating and supporting Australian and New Zealand women through her website, NHB Girls. A feat that saw her travel across the country showcasing events on the website. In the final year of the website, working in conjunction with Melbourne City Wrestling, Rhi released a limited edition calendar that featured the likes of Peyton Royce, Dakota Kai, Toni Storm & Rhea Ripley – with a portion of the sales going to charity.

Nowadays, Rhi is the Social Media, Community and Public Relations Manager for Melbourne City Wrestling. Tasked with looking after all of MCW’s social touch points, she is passionate about fan engagement and ensuring that our fun, entertaining brand DNA is prevalent in all our social interactions.


Criss Fresh – Promo & Character / Talent Development Trainer

Criss Fresh has over 19 years experience in the wrestling industry.

He has been a part of the booking teams of some of Melbourne’s biggest promotions including Northern Wrestling Entertainment (NWE), Crown Casinos All Star Wrestling (ASW), and Wrestlerock.

Fresh is currently a member of the senior management team at Melbourne City Wrestling. After a brief stint in 2011, he has been the Head Of Creative at MCW since late 2013, and also assists with match agenting and promos on show day.
